Installation Instructions:

1. Close the supply valve to the toilet tank, then depress flush lever to empty tank.

2. After taking off the tank cover, check the length of the flush arm. An 8” lever is required to insure proper flapper operation. Replace the flush lever if necessary.

3. Remove chain hook from lever and remove the old flapper.

4. Install the new Adjustable flapper by slipping flapper ears over the prongs at the base of the overflow tube. If there are no prongs, you will need to purchase a trunion ring adapter from your local hardware store in order to complete the installation.

5. Insert the “S” hook into the outermost hold in the tank lever and attach the chain so that with the flapper closed there is about 3/8” of slack in the chain.

6. Open the supply valve and refill tank. Adjust the water level, using the ball-cock valve so that the water level is 3/8” below the top of the overflow tube. If you do not raise the water level to this point you will not have the maximum available head pressure to ensure a thorough flush.

7. Adjust the float for maximum water savings: position the float approximately 2” above the flapper. Flush the toilet and check the operation of the toilet to see that it still:
  • Clears the bowl and achieves a gurgling sound at the end of the flush
  • Refills the bowl to its original level after each flush. Not refilling the bowl may result in double-flushing
8. Adjust the float as needed—raising the float will reduce the water flushed; lowering the float will increase the amount of water flushed
